How do I improve by using music for my training?
By using music with a flexible beat, you are also able to maintain flexibility in your training. You can choose to train in your upper range if you are looking to improve speed by selecting songs that challenge you on beat, or you can select a more moderate beat to help you through your long-distance set, where you need to work out with a lower pulse. Also, Sportunes' flexible beat songs can help after injuries or disease, when you are recovering and slowly getting back into shape and you normal BPM music is too fast for you. That means you can use the same, trusted songs that you always use, just with a lower beat per minute. Just go to the Sportunes MusicShop, find the songs on your playlist and download them in a lower BPM.
How do I know which tempo is right for me?
If you are already using popular music for your training, and you know how many BPM your songs have, you can go directly to our MusicShop and look for songs in the same BPM range by using the SongSelector. If you don't know, how many BPM the song you like to train to has, you can go go to our BeatCounter, play your song, and the BeatCounter will tell you approximately how many BPM your song has. In the MusicShop, use the SongSelector, and find songs in the same BPM range. To get an idea if a song is right for e.g. running, you can also jog in place when playing the song. If the rhythm (beat) suits your pace, you should look for songs in similar beats. However, jogging in place gives you only an indication. Only in a real training situation is it possible to estimate correctly if the song matches your pace.
How much do your songs cost?
The single songs cost 0.69 for a song of approximately 5 min. duration. Our All BPM Packages cost 1.99 for a package containing 26 tempo versions of the same song from 130 bpm to 180 bpm.

I am a beginner, how can Sportunes help me?
If you are a beginner, there are several things you should have in mind, before you jump into hard training with a 180 BPM song on your mp3 player. Beginners should select a moderate BPM to start with. A suitable, moderate groove will help you get to know your body better without having to struggle with a too-fast pace all the time, which stresses you, gives you no benefit from your training and definitely takes your fun away. A moderate BPM helps you listen to your body's signals, gives you a feel for your own rhythm and keeps you from overpacing. It keeps your energy level high, takes you through highs and lows on your course and helps maintain your fun and enjoyment of your training.

Is it better to train with music?
We know that some athletes prefer to train without music and like the sound of the outdoors rather than that of a rock beat. This is of course ok. It is important to feel comfortable, have fun and find your own training method . with or without music. Most athletes do train with music, but unfortunately many inefficiently, because they have problems finding the right music and are not running on beat, or because they have absolutely no desire to run on beat for fear of overpacing. However, imagine trying to dance without music. It is possible, but it feels awkward and is not fun at all. According to studies, like the one made by Dr. Costas Karagheorgis from the Brunel University in London, endurance can even be increased up to 15% by synchronising the pace of the work-out to the beat of the music. Research has also shown that many beginners run too fast, which leads to injuries, lack of motivation and loss of the fun part of doing sports. There are a several ways that music can have an impact on your training and performance: Music makes you think that you are not working as hard as you are. It decreases your sense of effort, makes you feel less pain or feel better about the strain you are going through. Music with a hard, fast beat can be used to heighten your motivation by pushing you before a race, as well as calm music can be used to soothe your nerves and help you concentrate. Music can help you adjust your movement and reduce the oxygen required by your work-out, when you match the musical beat to the pace of your training. Should you decide to train with music, Sportunes offers a training music solution that motivates you, which is tempo flexible and thus variable according to your current shape. That means no matter how slow or fast you are, you can always run on beat with Sportunes, and hereby improve your performance significantly.
No. We strive to create high-quality songs for many different training purposes. This requires research, time and human resources. When you buy a song you receive a user right. This user right is personal, and means you may not distribute the song to others, otherwise you are violating the copyrights. We are trying to keep the prices as low as possible for our customers, and this is only possible if the songs are not shared with others. We hope for your understanding of this.
Should I always use the same BPM?
No. Depending on what type of sport and what kind of training you are doing, you should adjust your playlist. Sportunes makes it easy. Every song is available in a wide range of beats from approximately 120 BPM up to 180 BPM in steps of 2 BPM. What BPM suits you the best is a very individual matter. After a while your training experience will tell you exactly what BPM is right for the specific kind of traning you are doing. A few rules of thumb: If you are looking to increase distance, you should normally train with a lower pulse and thus a lower BPM than in your normal work-outs. Interval traning requires a higher beat for a shorter time. The BPM range for running can be anywhere between 100 (warm-up and cool-down) and 180 BPM (sprints, intervals). The BPM range for spinning/cycling is approximately 120-180 BPM. Aerobic normally requires a BPM range from 130-150 depending on the exercises and repetition.
