Eat Yourself Healthy and Happy

Have you ever tried to listen to the signals of your body when you have had a bit too much fast food and empty calories? And I mean really LISTENED, not looked away or purposely put your fingers in your ears to ignore the increasing dissatisfaction of your body. For me the signals are unmistakeable. If I don't think about what I eat, the couch starts glueing itself to my body, and I am too tired to do anything. Then I feel inefficient, and that to me is one of the worst feelings, because it makes me feel useless. Now this isn't quantum physics, so of course I can figure out that if the body reacts like that to negative input, it will react in the opposite way to healthy and nutritious food. And there you are...! If I think about what I eat, make sure I get all the right vitamin groups, eat low-fat and with lots af fibre, my body rewards right away me with more energy. More energy results in a higher level of activity, and that again means that I feel efficient.

What motivates a child - a personal story.

I have three children. All three are very different, their looks, their attitudes, the way they react. One of the biggest differences is how sporty they are, their approach to competition and the things that motivate them.

Last weekend we went to watch the ironman-distance triathlon competition in Copenhagen, the Challenge Copenhagen. The day before the "real" competition, Challenge offered an opportunity for kids aged 6 - 13 to try out a triathlon on short distances. My children, age 9, 11 and 13 thought it could be fun.... My 9 and 13-year old are slim and sporty and loves ball sport, sports involving running and they don't mind physical contact like in soccer. I think they both have a healthy self-confidence. They win games, they lose some, and first and foremost: they have fun!

Loss of Performance

No one, absolutely no one has the cure-all for our modern sensory overload. The technological mobility varies between being a curse and a blessing. A curse, if it is really true that up to 40% of managers suffer from lack of concentration caused by the mobile hectic, and that this leads to massive loss of performance. A blessing if the use of iPhone, iPad, Black Berry & Co. leads to higher productivity and a comfortable feeling. I also don't have the magic recipe to deal with our cute, little helpers. Except: THE BUTTON. Each of these devices has an on-off button. Whether I press this heaven- or hell-button, I am the only one to decide. So it should be. This is living the term „individual responsibility“. Two situations:

Dies nennt man gelebte Eigenverantwortung. Zwei Situationen:
